Photographers are quite tech-savvy people, and will often try to put together their own websites. When Evan approached me about building him a site he insisted on having as much control over it as possible. I decided use WordPress to build it, and installed plugins which let him post updates and new photos, and share his Instagram feed. This allows him to efficiently add new content and keep the site fresh.
DBI International distributes a diverse line of electronics. Don Beasant asked me to completely redesign the company’s website to promote some of their new products, and had his team provide content and product images. After several drafts we decided to go with a dark layout featuring audio-themed textures. The top is clean and simple, and the bottom is big, solid, and well spaced out.
With its new layout, not only does the Shop At Shred BC fill a large window, it also fits into a smaller one. The left and right side bars are adjusted when the window becomes less than 600px wide. Try it! This means the site will load perfectly in your mobile browser, so you can open it up and compare prices the next time you are shopping for new ski pants.
The new Twitter widget does not work very well. It is extremely ridged and has very few customization options. In some cases it will not even appear at all. Fortunately the older version is still functional. Continue reading
